 is originally from Ohio but has lived throughout the country.  He picked up the steel pan in 2005 and has not looked back.  He plays the pan, congas, maracas and anything else that will make a noise as well as sings back-up vocals for the Anderson-Avery Tropical Band.  

 
"DANGEROUS" DAN ANDERSON

BACK

 

 was born in Michigan and grew up in Ohio.  He started his musical career playing drums for rock bands that also played a little jazz music.  He was heavily influenced by the Grateful Dead and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.  Dan picked up the guitar and harmonica on his way to playing with numerous acoustic combos.  He ventured out into a solo career when he moved to Illinois.  He met Mike Avery in Illinois and they started to play in an acoustic trio.  Dangerous Dan moved to South Carolina and went back to his solo career for many years.  He now is a lead vocalist and plays bass guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmonica and drums for the Anderson-Avery Tropical Band.  He is currently writing and recording material for AATB’s Island Songs Vol. 2.

 
DON "THE LEGEND" HAMRICK

has been playing music professionally since the age of 13.  He plays the drums and congas and is a graduate from Winthrop University with a degree in music.  Don has toured with such groups as The Clovers and Billy Scott and the Prophets and appeared as the drummer for Bill Haley and the Comets in the CBS movie “Shake Rattle and Roll”.

 
MICHAEL "AVERYMON" AVERY

 is a transplant to South Carolina from Illinois and has a strong background in music. He has been writing music since his teenage years, performing folk music in college.  He played in a number of bands before taking his band “Wheels” on the touring circuit around the Midwest.  After several years of touring he settled back down to songwriting and playing locally in rock bands and eventually country.  He soon went solo and then hooked up with “Dangerous” Dan Anderson.  They have been playing together since 1999.  Mike currently plays the guitar, ukulele, keyboards and percussion and sings lead vocals for the Anderson Avery Tropical Band.  He is currently writing and producing AATB’s second CD, Island Songs Vol. 2.  Yahmon!
